The last night of Perth Flower Club's 2019 season was a big success, with the committee producing nibbles , macaroons, mince pies and non alcoholic punch before the demonstration. Our demonstrator was the wonderful Lilias Hoskins, a big favourite with the Perth club. In spite of insisting that she is getting too old for this malarkey, Lilias gave a super demonstration including something that Barbra Cartland would have at Christmas. Lilias also regaled the audience with stories about some of the adventures she has had while competing and judging. Lilias is with her Barbra Cartland arrangement. A good end to a good year for Perth Flower Club.
There was a good turnout in spite of the dreadful weather for the November meeting, and it was worth the effort coming out in the dark wet windy night. Christine Ogle was on top form. Perth Flower Club were first on her tour so all the flowers and foliage were in excellent condition. Christine’s title was ‘Oh,No, It’s Christmas’ and she managed to get the right balance of a little bit of sparkle, not too much bling. Christine's arrangements were outstanding and all very different. Here we have Christine with one of her arrangements. Next time you are on tour we would love to have you back Christine.
Perth Flower Club was host to Linda Soutar our demonstrator for the evening. Linda is a well kent face in flower arranging circles with her workshops and tutorials. Linda also has a wealth of knowledge on her plant material which she was happy to share. Linda’s title was "A Brush with Colour" and she took her audience around the world to all the country’s she has visited. Linda seen with her Far East arrangement of gorgeous Orchids. A great night was had by all. A massive thanks to Linda’s husband Alex who helped us to get the Hall door open.
The first meeting after the summer break was a fun evening with demonstrator Christine McKenna. Christine had lots of wonderful stories and soon had her audience in stitches. Her title was "A Brush with Colour" and her exhibits certainly lived up to this with wonderful variations in tones and textures. Thanks for a great night Christine - come back soon!
Our last demonstration before the summer break was by Kath Gibson. Kath’s title was "Myths & Legends". Here is Kath’s interpretation of Robert the Bruce’s Cave - note the big black spider on the table. Kath was great fun with lots of funny stories. We will definitively have her back.

Alison Christie gave Perth Flower Club a good start to the new season in their new venue with her Spring inspired demonstration. As always Alison's work was immaculate with well conditioned foliage and beautiful flowers. Many thanks Alison we hope to see you back in the not to distant future.
